From 1982 through 2006, the Vernacular Architecture Forum published ten volumes of Perspectives in Vernacular Architecture as anthologies of peer-reviewed essays based on papers delivered at its annual conferences. Published in cooperation first with University of Missouri Press and later University of Tennessee Press, PVA volumes appeared every two to three years. Beginning with Volume V, unique titles were added to the individual volumes, which still carried the common subtitle. In 2004, PVA became a journal, Perspectives in Vernacular Architecture: Journal of the Vernacular Architecture Forum, published by Washington & Lee University with content drawn from general submissions as well as annual conferences. Perspectives in Vernacular Architecture became Buildings & Landscapes in 2007.
Perspectives in Vernacular Architecture is archived by JSTOR and is available in many research libraries. Some volumes are still in print and available for purchase.
